- New Macs filed in Eurasian Economic Database before Apple’s spring event
Apple filed three new Macs in the Eurasian Economic Database before the Apple Spring event. The new Mac models filed in the regulatory base are listed as A2615, A2681, and A2686. The only information we have about these models is that they're all running macOS Monterey. Apple has recently also filed new iPad and iPhone models in the Eurasian Economic Database which are believed to be the new third generation iPhone SE and the fifth generation iPad Air. Recent rumors from Bloomberg's Mark German suggested that Apple only plans to release at least one new Mac at the Spring event. The rest are expected to be launched at WWDC 2022 which is held in June. DigiTimes also claimed that Apple is planning to release a new M2 MacBook Pro model to replace the 13-inch MacBook Pro as well as a new Mac mini and a new iMac Pro which will replace the 27-inch iMac with the Intel chip. The only information we have right now is that Apple is working on a newly redesigned MacBook Air, Mac mini, iMac Pro and maybe a MacBook Pro. The Apple Spring event is rumored to be held on March 8 and it will most likely be a virtual event because of the ongoing pandemic.

- Apple adds safety features to AirTags to prevent unwanted tracking
Apple has updated AirTags after a growing number of cases where the device was used to stalk others started appearing. People have reported that they were being tracked and even stalked by others who they believe hid AirTags into their personal belongings. A new notification will now pop up saying an “Unknown Accessory Detected” which will also specify that a person is currently close to an AirTag which has been following them around. Apple will also use Precision Finding which will allow you to find the AirTag and get rid of it as quickly as possible. An unknown AirTag will also start to beep and a new notification will pop up notifying you of its presence. The AirTag will also emit an even louder sound now to alert you. Apple’s new updates will prevent people with bad intentions to stalk others with these devices and make AirTags even safer to use.

Apple has been rumored multiple times now for developing a AR/VR headset along with AR glasses. It is possible that the company is working to release a new software platform for the devices very soon. This information comes a couple of weeks after rumors about Apple’s AR/VR headset being delayed spread. Apple was supposed to launch the new headset this year at WWDC, but overheating issues with the processors inside the headset is apparently causing delays with the actual launch date of the system. The new images confirms that Apple is still working on the headset and it is possible that it might be coming very soon. Twitter user Steve Troughton-Smith also confirmed that realityOS will be its own software platform and will include a simulator for developers to test out their programs.

According to a new report from Mark Gurman, Apple is planning on adding more benefits for its retails employees in the coming months. Apple is a great company to work for and many employees love the environment it creates for them and the benefits they also get. Now after April 4th, Apple employees who are part time and full time will be able to get double paid sick days. They will also be eligible to receive more vacation days after three years of working from five years which was required previously to be eligible. Workers can also receive parental leave for up to six weeks and a scaled work time for four weeks after return. There will also be access to emergency funds for child care and care for elderly family members. These are great benefits and it will make the lives of workers easier.
- New low end MacBook Pro with M2 might launch in March
The new 2022 MacBook Pro which is supposed to replace the current 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro is rumored to launch in March according to DigiTimes. Apple is planning to hold an event in March for the third generation iPhone SE and the new iPads. So it might be possible that Apple is preparing to launch a new MacBook Pro model at this event. DigiTimes also claims that the new MacBook Pro will have an M2 chip inside. The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro has the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chip inside so it’s seems unlikely that the low end model will have the M2 chip. If that’s the case then M2 chip might be less powerful than the M1 Pro and M1 Max chip. Recent rumors suggested that we will see new MacBook Air models and iMac’s at the event. But it is still possible for Apple to throw the MacBook Pro in there.
- Apple announced new Tap to Pay feature which allows for contactless pay
Today Apple announced their new Tap to Pay feature which allows iPhone users to pay or accept payment without any contact. iPhone users will also be able to accept payment from credit and debit cards. This feature will allow small businesses and merchants to process payments by just having their customers hold their phone or their credit/debit card to the merchants iPhone. This technology will be using Apple’s NFC technology which is already available on the iPhone for Apple Pay. Apple will also allow app developers to embed this feature into their software. Stripe will start allowing the Tap to Pay feature soon for payments soon. Apple is planning to roll out this feature in the U.S. later this year and Apple Stores across the U.S. will also start using the Tap to Pay payment option soon.

The new iOS 15.4 beta allows users to unlock their iPhone using Face ID with a mask on. Previously because of the pandemic iPhone users were only able to unlock their iPhone using the Apple Watch or passcode while having a mask on. If you’re running the iOS 15.4 beta, you can go to settings and setup Face ID with or without a mask on and the feature will still be able to recognize you. You can set this feature by choosing the “Face ID with Mask” feature. iOS 15.4 also allows Face ID to work better with your glasses. It will be easier for you to unlock your iPhone with Face ID if you have glasses on your face. Since Apple will use your eye and upper face area for Face ID, they also had to improve how well Face ID will work when users have their glasses on. iOS 15.4 is still in beta but you can expect these features to roll out soon in a new software update.
