- Apple loses its title as world’s most valuable company to Saudi Aramco
Saudi Aramco surpassed Apple as being the most valuable company in the world. Saudi Aramco hold’s market cap of $2.43 trillion while Apple’s market cap fell more than 5% during trading and is now $2.37 trillion. This was caused by the recent spike in prices for energy stocks and oil prices. The company has dropped nearly 20% since it has announced its $3 trillion market cap earlier this year and Saudi Aramco has bumped up by 27%. Investors are starting to sell off their equities in different industries especially technology because of inflation and the deteriorating economy. This caused stock prices for many tech firms including Apple to fall. Saudi Aramco has reported that its profits doubled due to the rise in oil prices. There’s a possibility for Apple to once again takeover the title for world‘s valuable company since they passed Saudi Aramco as the most valuable public trading company back in 2020.

- iPhone 15 could be the first iPhone to feature a USB-C port
Image: EverythingApplePro According to a new rumor from Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo on Twitter, he claims that Apple might finally make the switch to USB-C from lightning on the iPhone 15 models. Kuo claimed that his latest surveys in the supply chain has lead him to believe that Apple will replace the Lightning port with a new USB-C port. Here’s what Kuo said on Twitter: My latest survey indicates that 2H23 new iPhone will abandon Lightning port and switch to USB-C port. USB-C could improve iPhone’s transfer and charging speed in hardware designs, but the final spec details still depend on iOS support. It’s expected to see existing USB-C-related suppliers of Apple’s ecosystem (e.g., IC controller, connector) become the market’s focus in the next 1-2 years, thanks to vast orders from iPhones and accessories’ adoption of USB-C ports. Even though the Lightning port on the iPhone has been highly profitable for Apple, regulations passed by the EU could force Apple to make the move to USB- C for the 2023 iPhone models. The EU claims that having all smartphones use the same USB-C connector will prevent the massive throw out of unused cables. Apple has already replaced the Lightning port with USB-C ports on the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and Mac. Rumors from other sources suggest that Apple will completely move to a port less iPhone and will never switch to USB-C. Apple has already introduced MagSafe with the iPhone 12 which is a new magnetic wireless charger which attaches magnetically to the back of your iPhone, so it’s possible that Apple could use MagSafe as the only charging solution for the iPhone.
