  • iPhone SE 3 Review: new mighty phone with old design

The new third generation iPhone SE is the newest edition to Apple's iPhone lineup and with its $429 price tag it raises the question "Is it worth the price Apple is selling it for?". Some noticeable differences with the iPhone SE 3 is that it has the same chassis as the iPhone 8 which makes it outdated from the rest of the iPhones in Apple's lineup. Design The small form factor of the iPhone SE 3 makes the phone more convenient for those who are interested in using smaller phones but will make it harder to access content to those who aren't used to the small screen size. The display is a 4.7 LCD display and the iPhone SE 3 has the home button at the bottom with Touch ID. Cameras The rear camera lens on the iPhone SE 3 has support for Deep Fusion and Smart HDR 4, but overall everything is mostly similar to the iPhone SE 2 which was released back in 2020. With Deep Fusion, the iPhone SE 3 can capture high quality photos with increased detail and reduced noise in the photos. Deep Fusion takes multiple photos and combines them together to create the perfect image type. On the other hand Smart HDR 4 automatically adjust the background, color, contrast, and noise on a photo. The iPhone SE 3 doesn't feature Night Mode like other iPhones in Apple's lineup. Night Mode allows users to take better photos in low light conditions. The front facing camera on the iPhone SE 3 is also the same 7MP front facing camera from the iPhone SE 2. Support for 5G A big update to the iPhone SE 3 is its support for 5G like the rest of the iPhones in Apple's lineup. However, the iPhone SE 3 doesn't support mmWave 5G like Apple's other iPhones. It only has support for lower band spectrums of 5G. New A15 Bionic Chip The iPhone SE 3 also surprisingly has the new A15 Bionic Chip from Apple which is also available on the iPhone 13 models. The A15 has a 6-core CPU with 4 high efficiency cores and 2 performance cores. The new chip is more efficient than ever and allows the iPhone SE 3 to have better battery life. Battery Life With the addition of the A15 chip, iPhone SE 3 has seen improvements to its battery life with 2 additional hours of video playback. Final thoughts Although the iPhone SE 3 is cheaper than the rest of the iPhones in Apple's lineup for a retail price of $429, we still recommend that you spend the extra money to buy an iPhone 11 or iPhone 12 if you're not interested in buying the latest flagships from Apple. The iPhone SE 3 lacks features that are available on cheaper smartphones and still has an outdated design with the home button. It's also worth to note that the iPhone SE 3 doesn't have support for MagSafe. It also only supports lower band 5G spectrums and has the same camera as the previous generation iPhone SE with some of the main features missing. But if you're someone who isn't interested in the topics listed above and just want a phone that will do the basic tasks, then the $429 iPhone SE 3 is a great choice for you.

  • AirPods Pro 2 charging case will still feature the lightning port instead of USB-C

Recent rumors suggested that Apple will make the switch to USB-C on the iPhone 15 and some of their accessories like AirPods, but in a series of new tweets from Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, he claims that it seems unlikely that Apple will switch and is now backing down on his previous leaks. Kuo now claims that he believes that the future AirPods Pro 2 models will still feature a lightning port instead of USB-C on the charging case. He also claims how he predicts the switch won’t happen since Apple’s high end AirPods Max model also features a lightning port instead of a USB-C port. Kuo also claims that AirPods Pro 2 are still set to launch in the second half of this year.

  • Apple CEO Tim Cook featured in TIME's 100 most influential people in the world list

Apple CEO Tim Cook was featured as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME. However this isn't the first time Cook was featured on the list. Cook was featured under the Titans category and his profile was written by Lauren Powell Jobs who has this to say about the Apple CEO. Apple is Tim Cook's life's work, and in this work, Tim displays mastery. Tim has demonstrated more range in his leadership of one of the world's largest companies than any contemporary CEO. Since Apple's products and policies affect the very character of contemporary life, Tim's job demands not only business wisdom but also philosophical wisdom. The intense pressure of setting and executing Apple's progression with deep precision, and of taking responsibility for the company's effects on society, is almost unimaginable. Yet Tim does it with compassion and discipline, turning to nature to replenish his spirit. In the summer he can be found hiking in our national parks, buoyed by the majesty of the mountains. After more than a decade at the helm, Tim has carved out a place as not only one of the world's most admired CEOs but an exemplar of moral leadership, technological imagination, environmental stewardship, and humanitarianism. To paraphrase a famous speech by Theodore Roosevelt: Tim strives valiantly, dares greatly, and spends himself in a grand cause. The list also includes others in other categories who received the recognition from TIME.

  • Google’s new AR glasses might be able to evade language barriers

Google announced that it has been heavily invested in Augmented Reality like the other tech giants in Silicon Valley. They also showed off a prototype of their new AR Glasses. Google is focusing to solve real world problems with their new AR glasses and one of the features they showed off was how users can use these glasses to translate different languages in real time. In the demo video Google showed how their glasses will show a live transcript of the translated language while directly speaking to someone when wearing it. This will help with the language barrier issues people might face in different parts of the world and makes Google’s glasses more practical than ever. Unlike companies like Meta who are trying to focus on how to entertain us with features in the Metaverse, Google’s mission is more towards assisting us with our everyday lives.

  • New high end front facing camera on the iPhone 14 will be manufactured by a South Korean supplier

Image: EverythingApplePro Apple is planning to leave behind its current Chinese suppliers and use LG Innotek to supply the new front facing cameras for the iPhone 14 models. The switch to LG Innotek was reported by Korean ET News who said that Apple has notified all its major partners that they will be switching to LG Innotek due to quality problems with the Chinese manufacturers for this component. Apple was reportedly planning to make this switch for the iPhone 15 models but instead decided to switch early and have LG Innotek manufacture this component for the upcoming iPhone 14 models. This is also the first time Apple has partnered up with a South Korean manufacturer for this part. ET News claims that LG Innotek will also provide Apple with a high end version of the front facing camera which will include features like autofocus. The news publication also claims that this will increase Apple’s cost of manufacturing the product three times more than previous iPhone models. Apple will also split the front facing cameras production with the Japanese company, Sharp. LG Innotek is already responsible for manufacturing Apple’s high end rear cameras, so we can also expect new advanced front facing cameras with more features with the upcoming iPhone 14 models.
