Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference will kick off with a keynote tomorrow at 10am PDT. We will see the introduction of new softwares and some hardware at the event.
The new 14-inch and 16-inch redesigned MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon might debut at this event. The MacBook Pro will also have additional I/O like HDMI, Thunderbolt/USB C ports and an SD card slot. We might also see the return of MagSafe. Apple will also remove the Touch Bar from the MacBook Pro and replace it will traditional function keys.
We might also see updates to the new Apple Silicon chips. Apple is rumored to launch the new M1X or M2 chip which will replace the M1 chip. Apple is working on 10-core Apple Silicon chips with up to a 32 core GPU and 64GB of RAM.
There will also be updates to the operating systems like iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15, watchOS 8, and macOS 12. This year we have little to no information about what to expect for the new OS but rumors hint at what we could possibly see.
iOS and iPadOS 15 will have a few updates. There will be updates to iMessages, updates for notifications, a new food tracking feature in the health app, updates to the user interface and home screen, and new accessibility features.
For tvOS 15 and watchOS 8 we don’t have any information but it will most likely be minor updates.
There’s also no information available on the new version of macOS, but we do know that it will be called macOS 12 and it will either be called macOS Mammoth or Monterey. macOS 11 was called macOS Big Sur.
Lastly we might see a new operating system at the event called homeOS. It was mentioned in a job opening for Apple but was then later removed. tvOS runs both the Apple TV and HomePod devices so it is possible for a new operating system just for the home to be launched.
You can watch the WWDC keynote on Apple.com or on YouTube live at 10am PDT on Monday June 7th.
