Third party screen repairs for your iPhone 13 can completely destroy Face ID

According to a new article from iFixit, third party screen repairs for your iPhone 13 models could destroy the Face ID feature on your iPhone.

iFixit normally breaks down new products including iPhones to review the components inside. In their latest test for the iPhone 13 they found out that a screen replacement can break Face ID. After replacing the original display with a new one on the iPhone 13, iFixit noticed how an error message would pop up when someone tried to use Face ID to unlock their iPhone.

This could cause a lot of iPhone repair businesses to shut down because Apple is making it harder for third party repair services to repair their products. Products like the iPhone 13 can only be properly repaired by Apple or an authorized Apple repair service.

Some third party repair services were able to work around this but the process of repairing the iPhone 13 was more complicated for them since they had to use microscopes and a bunch of other tools required by Apple to repair their products.

Apple recommends that you get their products repaired by them or one of their authorized services. Even though the cost of repairing an Apple product without Apple Care+ by Apple is high, their service is more reliable than other third party repair services.
