In a new report from Ming Chi Kuo, he claims that Apple is going to bring the LEO Satellite Communication to the iPhone 13. This will allow users to call and text without cellular connectivity using Low Earth Orbit Satellite Communication.
According to the report, the iPhone 13 already has the Qualcomm X60 chip which allows for LEO Satellite Communication. Qualcomm is reportedly working on the X65 chip which many smartphone manufacturers are waiting for so they can bring the LEO Satellite Communication feature on their phones.
Apple will most likely work with Globalstar to allow users to call and text without cellular connectivity. Ming Chi Kuo claims that large network operators might team up with Gobalstar so their customers can use the service directly from the network operator without any extra payment.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported on the existence of a team at Apple working on LEO Satellite Communication features a while back.
The LEO Satellite Communication feature is reportedly going to be available on many Apple products and it has become a company priority to get this to the market as soon as possible.
