Apple discontinued the Beats Pill Plus speaker which was their only portable Bluetooth speaker. The removal of the Beats Pill Plus speaker from Apple and Beats online store was first reported by 9to5Mac.
It’s unclear why Apple discontinued the product, but it makes sense since it was last updated back in 2015 and released under Apple after Apple acquired Beats in 2014.
The Beats Pill Plus lost it’s popularity due to the HomePod which was discontinued and HomePod mini which is the only speaker Apple sells right now for $99. Unlike the Beats Pill Pro, the HomePod mini isn’t portable.
