This plan offers all the benefits of Spotify Premium, such as ad-free music streaming and offline listening, but excludes the 15 hours of monthly audiobook listening previously included in the Premium plan.
The move comes after Spotify recently raised prices across its offerings. The Premium Individual plan, which now costs $11.99 per month, includes the audiobook listening feature. The new Basic plan provides a more affordable option for users who only require music and podcast streaming.
For users interested in a Family plan without audiobook access, Spotify offers a Family version of the Basic plan for $16.99 per month. The Premium Duo plan remains available at $15.99 per month, offering two user accounts, while the Premium Family plan is priced at $19.99 per month for multiple users.
This new Basic plan aligns with Apple Music's individual pricing of $10.99 per month. Spotify's Premium plans continue to provide audiobook listening, making the Basic plan a suitable choice for users who do not require this feature.
