Nintendo’s new music app brings iconic game soundtracks to your smartphone

Nintendo is adding a new rhythm to the gaming world, now letting fans carry its legendary soundtracks wherever they go with the release of the Nintendo Music app.

Available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play, the app grants Nintendo Switch Online members access to a sweeping collection of memorable tunes from almost four decades of Nintendo's game history, right on their smartphones. This is the first dedicated Nintendo music app, and it arrives with a promise to entertain players beyond the game screen, featuring beloved melodies from titles across the Nintendo universe.

Nintendo’s decision to launch a music-focused app comes shortly after its foray into mobile-friendly features like the recent Alarmo app, blending fun with utility. With Nintendo Music, however, fans can dive straight into pure nostalgia, revisiting the soundtracks that defined iconic games like *Super Mario Bros.*, *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild*, *Animal Crossing*, and *Pokémon*. Not only is this an opportunity to enjoy favorite soundscapes, but it's also a celebration of Nintendo’s contribution to video game music—a genre that has become its own cultural touchstone.

The app offers more than just tracks; it has built-in playlist curation based on moods, in-game moments, and even specific characters. Fans can create and share playlists, loop and extend tracks for continuous play, and choose from a variety of immersive listening options.

Nintendo has also added a unique feature to let users filter out songs containing spoilers, preserving the experience of upcoming game content. With new tracks promised over time, the Nintendo Music app is set to evolve alongside its games, introducing fresh content regularly.

For Nintendo Switch Online members in the U.S. and Canada, Nintendo Music offers a free gateway to explore these iconic melodies anytime and anywhere.
