New leak claims redesigned iMac Pro with a 120Hz display, M1 Pro/Max chip, and more coming in 2022

A new leak from Twitter user @dylandkt claims that Apple is working on a new redesigned iMac Pro which can come as early as next year.

According to Dylan, Apple will bring the same display available on the new MacBook Pro to the 27-inch iMac Pro. The new iMac Pro will get a 120Hz Pro Motion Mini - LED display. Ross Young recently also reported that the iMac Pro will have a 27-inch display.

Dylan also believes that the new iMac Pro will have black bezels. The 24-inch iMac has white bezels all around and Dylan believes it will be different for the Pro models. The new iMac Pro will have a similar design to the 24-inch iMac and the Pro Display XDR. But since its a Pro model, the iMac Pro might look more similar to the Pro Display XDR rather than the lower end 24-inch iMac.

Dylan claims that Apple also tested Face ID for the new iMac Pro but it’s not confirmed if it will ever make it on this model.

The new iMac Pro is expected to get new ports which include HDMI, SD Card Slot, and USB C ports just like the new MacBook Pro. There will also be an Ethernet port available on the charging brick just like on the 24-inch iMac.

The iMac Pro will be powered by the new Apple Silicon chip. It will support both the M1 Pro and M1 Max chip. The iMac Pro will have 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage standard on the base models.

The iMac Pro is expected to arrive as early as 2022 and Dylan claims the base model will start at $2000.
