Today Apple announced the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models which have new features like Dynamic Island, an advanced camera system, the new A16 chip, an always on display, and more.
It has been heavily rumored that Apple would replace the notch with a pill shaped cutout and in fact they did but found about to work around it with a new feature called Dynamic Island.
Dynamic Island is a new that will automatically readjust depending on what you're viewing like maps, music, or a notification. It is also interactive and can be changed to different shapes and sizes.
Apple claims that Dynamic Island is a smooth integration between hardware and software.
The display also now features a Always On Display which shows the time, widgets, and live activities while the display and wallpaper are dimmed in the background.
There's a new 48MP main camera lens with a quad pixel sensor which Apple claims will turn every four pixels to one and improve low-light image quality by keeping the size small. The low-light performance gets even better with the Photonic Engine which improves the quality up to 3x.
The A16 Bionic chip is built on a 4nm process and improvements in efficiency and performance.
Other features include crash detection which automatically contacts emergency services by detecting a crash and can measure up to 256g's. There's also Emergency SOS via satellite which can help you contact emergency services via connection to satellites in no cellular areas.
All iPhone 14 models no longer have the SIM card tray and instead use eSIM.
The iPhone 14 Pro is available in Space Black, Silver, Gold, and Deep Purple. It will start at $999 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will start at $1099. Pre orders are this Friday September 9th and it ships on Friday September 16.
