A new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicates that there are many new features and new design changes that are coming to the iPad lineup very soon.
The 2022 iPad Pro is rumored to have a new glass back which will replace the aluminum case. This will enable wireless charging and Apple is also rumored to be testing MagSafe which is found on the iPhone 12 for the new iPad Pro lineup. The new iPad Pro might also be able to reverse charge accessories like AirPods.
The iPad mini will also see massive design changes. The new iPad mini will have thinner bezels with no home button and will have a similar design to the iPad Pro and iPad Air. We might also see it get boxy edges like the new iPad and iPhone models. It’s not clear when this will be available but many rumors suggest it will happen very soon.
Lastly the iPad 9th generation which is the base level iPad will be thinner than previous models and will still be a device aimed towards students. It will still start at $329 and will most likely not see any major design changes.
Mark Gurman has a very reliable track record so it is possible that we might see these new features happening very soon.
