Its definitely better to wait for the new iPhones than buy one right now since you're getting better features. For the hardware the iPhone 12 Pro is expected to get a LiDAR sensor similar to the one that the 2020 iPad Pro has. A new design also shows that its supposed to get a smart connector on the side. At the moment we don't know what the smart connector is for but it's most likely for something in the future. These are just some of the reasons why you should wait for the 2020 iPhones.
