Apple released the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models last Friday and here are our thoughts on what could be described as the iPhone with minor upgrades from the iPhone 13 lineup.
Display
To start off, Apple got rid of the mini model this year and replaced it with the new iPhone 14 Plus model. The phones are available in a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch size options.
The display is also a 120Hz Pro Motion display but aside from the larger screen there's no upgrades on the display side.
A15 chip
This year the iPhone 14 models features the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13 models. This is the first time Apple hasn't put a new chip in there new iPhones and differentiates the iPhone 14 a lot from the iPhone 14 Pro.
Battery Life
The battery life on the iPhone 14 models are also very similar to the iPhone 13 models with no significant differences.
Apple claims that the iPhone 14 can do up to 20 hours of video playback and up to 80 hours of audio playback.
Cameras
The iPhone 14 models has a new updates camera with an all new 12-MP front facing camera with auto focus. The iPhone can also take 2x better low-light photos.
There's an improved Main and Ultra Wide lenses and the new Photonic Engine helps with better low light photos by merging pixels.
There's also a new Action Mode feature for videos which helps with stabilization with activity in videos.
Colors
The iPhone 14 is available in Blue, Purple, Midnight, Starlight, and Product Red. We think that Blue is the best color option available this year.
