iPad mini 6 molds reveals new design with no Home Button and flat edges

A new image shared by Techordo shows alleged images of the upcoming iPad mini 6 molds. These molds help case manufactures make cases for upcoming Apple products before they’re announced.

Previously, Apple leaker, Jon Prosser shared renders of the upcoming iPad mini 6 which are very similar to the molds shown here. The molds confirm the new design with smaller bezels and no home button.

The design is very similar to the new iPad Air 4. Like the iPad Air 4 the iPad mini 6 has smaller bezels and a single lens camera. It also has Touch ID on the power button and no Face ID.

The power button and volume buttons are both placed on the top of the device. This is most likely because of the Apple Pencil. The smaller chassis on the iPad mini 6 won’t give enough room on the side to charge the Apple Pencil so Apple had to move the volume button to the top.

The iPad mini 6 is expected to launch sometime this Fall. Previously Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that Apple is preparing for multiple events this Fall. The September event is normally reserved for the iPhones and Apple Watch, so it’s possible for Apple to launch the iPad mini 6 in October or November.
