iOS 15.4 allows users to unlock their iPhone using Face ID with a mask on

The new iOS 15.4 beta allows users to unlock their iPhone using Face ID with a mask on. Previously because of the pandemic iPhone users were only able to unlock their iPhone using the Apple Watch or passcode while having a mask on.

If you’re running the iOS 15.4 beta, you can go to settings and setup Face ID with or without a mask on and the feature will still be able to recognize you. You can set this feature by choosing the “Face ID with Mask” feature.

iOS 15.4 also allows Face ID to work better with your glasses. It will be easier for you to unlock your iPhone with Face ID if you have glasses on your face.

Since Apple will use your eye and upper face area for Face ID, they also had to improve how well Face ID will work when users have their glasses on.

iOS 15.4 is still in beta but you can expect these features to roll out soon in a new software update.
