Intel claims its latest Core i9 processor is faster than the latest Apple M1 Max chip which has impressive benchmarks for a mobile processor.
Intel at their CES 2022 keynote had a lot of things to say about their new Core i9-12900HK processor and even gave it the title of being the fastest mobile processor ever.
The company showed the chips performance compared to other chips in a chart at their keynote which did in fact confirm Intel’s comments about the Core i9 being faster than the M1 Max chip, but the chart also showed the M1 Max being able to deliver better performance at much lower wattages.
Apple’s M1 Max chip is able to deliver better performance and use less power at the same time. It’s more efficient than any other laptop chip in the market.
The new Core i9 has a 14-core CPU with 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. The Apple M1 Max chip has a 10-core CPU with 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores.
Intel claims its new Core i9 processor will start shipping with laptops starting next month. We still can’t determine if the Core i9 processor will be better than the M1 Max until we get our hands on a device powered by the latest processor.
