Here’s how to download iOS 16 developer beta

Apple announced iOS 16 with major new upgrades at this year‘s WWDC. Although the software will be available to all iPhone users with an iPhone XR and up this fall, here’s a few steps on how you can get access to these new features early.

Warning: This beta software might include bugs and isn’t completely finished yet. Your iPhone might get very buggy and unresponsive after downloading the software. We recommend that you don’t download the new update onto your daily driver.

  1. Log in to Apple’s Developer Website on your iPhone. You must be an existing member of the Apple Developer Program which costs $99 a year.

  2. Scroll down in the menu bar and tap "Downloads".

  3. Then tap "Install Profile".

  4. Tap "Allow" to install the profile onto your device.

  5. After complete, tap "Install" a couple of more times after going through the terms and conditions.

  6. Then tap "Restart" in the prompt that will appear shortly.

  7. After you've restarted your device, go to Settings then General, and then Software Update where you'll see the beta.

  8. Tap "Download and Install".

  9. Your iPhone should restart and download the new update.

Make sure to backup your iPhone before downloading the beta so you don't lose any of your data if something goes wrong while downloading.
