First look at the new redesigned iPad mini with thinner bezels, no home button, and flat edges

Today Jon Prosser shared renders as well as information on the new iPad mini. According to Prosser these images are based on real images he received of the device.

Jon Prosser claims that the new iPad mini will have thinner bezels with no home button similar to the iPad Air and iPad Pro. There will also be Touch ID on the power button like the iPad Air and we will finally see a USB C port on the device. The iPad mini is also reported to have a better speaker system than the previous models. It is going to be available in three colors which includes silver, black, and gold.

The iPad mini will be powered by the A14 chip and will also have support for 5G like the iPhone 12 models and the new 2021 iPad Pro. Apple will also introduce a new smaller Apple Pencil to use with the new iPad mini.

Prosser did share the dimensions of the iPad mini with us which is 206.3mm x 137.8mm x 6.1mm, but we didn’t get any information based on what the display size will be. Apple hasn’t updated the iPad mini in a long time so it’s not clear when we can possibly see it coming.
