According to Mark Gurman, Apple will bring Face ID to the Mac in a couple of years.
Gurman claims that Apple plans to bring Face ID to most of their products including the Mac, iPhone SE, and the iPad Air which all have Touch ID since it’s cheaper.
Gurman also previously claimed that Apple was originally going to put Face ID on this year’s iMac but delayed it since the chassis was thinner and wanted to launch it on another redesigned iMac.
Gurman thinks that Apple will start building Face ID into the iPhone displays themselves so there won’t be any notch required for the sensor. Ming Chi Kuo claimed that a notch less iPhone will debut in 2023.
Apple still continues to work on the new 27” iMac which hasn’t been unveiled yet. The new 27” redesigned iMac will be more powerful than the new 24” which was unveiled in April.
