Today Google held its annual Google I/O developer conference in person in Mountain View, California. Here are all the products announced by Google at the event.
Pixel 6a
Google unveiled the new Google Pixel 6a. The Pixel 6a is a new smartphone with the new Google Tensor chip and same design as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. It’s a new cheaper alternative to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro for $449.
Pixel Buds Pro
Google also unveiled the new Pixel Buds Pro which are very similar to the Apple AirPods Pro. The new Pixel Buds Pro offer a variety of new features including active noise cancellation, transparency mode, support for hands free “Hey Google” voice control, support for the Google Find My Device app, spatial audio, and automatic switching between different devices paired to your Pixel Buds Pro. Pixel Buds Pro will be available for $199.
Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro
Google also gave us a sneak peak at the design for the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro coming later this year. There‘s a slightly new design to the smartphone with the camera bar gaining a new aluminum finish. The Pixel 7 will also feature two camera lenses while the Pixel 7 Pro will feature three camera lenses. They will also be powered by the next generation Google Tensor chip and will ship with Android 13. Google hasn’t given us any information on the pricing yet.
Pixel Watch
Google also unveiled the new long awaited Pixel Watch. The Pixel Watch has a circular design with a crown, and a side button. You can also customize your watch bands with an Apple Watch like band replacing feature. The Pixel Watch will be powered by a new updated wearOS with FitBit functionality for health tracking and other fitness features. Pixel Watch will require a smartphone running Android 8 or newer.
Pixel Tablet
Google is planning to release their new tablet called the Pixel Tablet to compete with the iPad. The tablet will be powered by the Google Tensor chip. We haven’t heard anything else about the tablet, but Google claims that it will be available in 2023.
Google AR Glasses
Google showed off its AR Glasses right at the end of the event with real time translation during a conversation. We haven’t really heard anything else about the device other than now knowing that Google is joining Meta, Apple, and other companies in developing their own products for AR and VR support.
Google I/O is very similar to Apple’s WWDC where they show off new software for their products to developers, but this year the event was packed with a bunch of new hardware announcements.
