Apple announced that Emergency SOS via Satellite will be available to iPhone 14 users today in the US and Canada.
Emergency SOS via Satellite will eventually be available in more countries around the world and could be used by iPhone 14 users who are running iOS 16.1 or later in no cell service regions.
The feature will allow you to contact emergency services by connecting to a low orbit satellite using Apple's simple interface. The interface is designed to help you locate the nearest satellite and connect to it so you can message emergency services during an emergency.
The new service will also allow iPhone 14 to share your Medical ID with emergency services in advance as well as share your location on Find My in areas with no cell service.
