Beats Introduces Enhanced Pill Speaker After Discontinuing Previous Model

Beats Pill+

Today, Beats announced the relaunch of its iconic Pill speaker, marking a return to the portable Bluetooth speaker market after discontinuing the Pill+ in 2022. The new Pill speaker boasts a redesigned internal architecture aimed at delivering superior sound quality.

One of the standout features of the new Pill is its re-engineered design, featuring a 20-degree upward tilt that enhances sound projection for a more immersive listening experience. Beats promises improved sound quality with enhanced bass and clearer tones, achieved through upgraded woofer and tweeter components designed to minimize distortion. Moreover, the speaker is now 10% lighter than its predecessor, the Pill+, and includes a removable lanyard for easier portability.

For added durability, the new Pill speaker is IP67 rated, making it dust and water-resistant, suitable for outdoor use and protection against accidental spills or brief submersion.

Like previous models, users can pair two Pill speakers together for amplified sound, choosing between Amplify Mode for louder output or Stereo Mode for a balanced left-right channel separation. Beats has also enhanced the speakerphone capabilities with advanced noise-cancelling technology, ensuring clearer voice transmission during calls.

The Pill retains its intuitive on-device controls for music playback, volume adjustment, pairing, and power management. It charges via USB-C, which also supports reverse charging for your devices or high-quality audio transmission from compatible sources. With up to 24 hours of battery life on a full charge, the Pill also features Fast Fuel technology, providing two hours of playback with just a 10-minute charge.

Ease of use is emphasized with one-touch pairing available for both iOS and Android devices, alongside compatibility with Find My and Find My Device services for added convenience and security.

Available for pre-order starting today, the new Beats Pill comes in black, red, and gold color options, priced at $150. Shipping will commence from June 27, offering music enthusiasts a blend of style, durability, and enhanced audio performance in a portable package.
