Apple is adjusting how it sells AppleCare+ in its retail stores, shifting entirely to a subscription-based model, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports.
Starting next week, customers will no longer have the option to pay upfront for 2-3 years of coverage when purchasing in-store.
While retail stores will discontinue the lump-sum payment option, Apple’s website will continue offering both choices until further notice.
The shift reflects Apple’s broader strategy of prioritizing recurring payments, which contribute to its growing services revenue.
