This week Apple warned its Mac users to not cover the camera with a camera cover. According to Apple the difference between the keyboard and the display is really tight when closed. This means having a camera cover can shatter the display. Apple also said they won't be replacing any Mac display which was destroyed due to the camera cover. Apple will only replace the display for its AppleCare+ customers.
Apple also said a green light will illuminate when the camera is on. Still many people aren't buying what Apple said and are still insecure. Apple also said covering the camera can prevent features like automatic brightness and the True Tone display from working. Apple said those who are still insecure about their camera can go to system preferences and manually choose which apps can have access to the built in camera.
