Apple announced the new 24-inch iMac with the new M3 chip on Monday at Apple's event.
The new iMac, now powered by the M3 chip, has taken a significant leap in performance, claiming to be twice as fast as its M1 predecessor. For those transitioning from Intel-based iMacs, the improvement is even more substantial, with Apple touting it to be 2.5 times faster than the previous 27-inch models and a remarkable 4.5 times speedier than the 21.5-inch iterations.
The revamped iMac now offers support for up to 24GB of memory, providing users with more room for demanding tasks. A standout feature is the M3 chip's GPU, which introduces hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing to the iMac for the first time, making it a compelling choice for graphics-intensive work.
In terms of connectivity, Apple has integrated Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, promising faster and more reliable wireless connections. The device maintains its vibrant color options, including green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver, but it also comes with fresh color-matched wallpapers for added visual appeal.
What's even more enticing is the price point, as the iMac starts at the same $1,299 as its predecessor. It's available for ordering today, with deliveries expected to begin on Tuesday, November 7. This makes it an attractive option for those in search of a high-performance desktop solution that won't break the bank.
