Apple unveils the new redesigned MacBook Pro with a notch, 120Hz display, new ports, and more

Today Apple unveiled the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro at their virtual event. The new MacBook Pro has a ton of new features and is the biggest upgrade to the MacBook Pro since 2016.

The new MacBook Pro has a new design and a larger display with thinner bezels. There’s a notch at the top of the display which has the new 1080p front facing camera. The MacBook Pro is available in two new sizes 14-inch and 16-inch. It also comes in space grey and silver.

The new MacBook Pro now has a 120Hz Pro motion display which was previously added to the iPhone 13 Pro models back in September. The MacBook Pro now has a Liquid Retina XDR display and uses the same Mini-LED technology found on the iPad Pro.

The new MacBook Pro also has more ports now like HDMI, SD card slot, Thunderbolt, and MagSafe. The new MagSafe charger can fast charge your MacBook Pro from 0% to 50% in just under 30 minutes. And on a single charge it offers up to 17 hours of battery life on the 14-inch and 21 hours on the 16-inch. There are also new MagSafe accessories along with a new powerful charger.

There’s also better sound quality with new speakers on the MacBook Pro. Both models now support spatial audio for a surround sound experience.

The new MacBook Pro is powered by the new M1 Pro or M1 Max chip depending on which option you choose. The M1 Pro has a 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, and 32GB of RAM. The M1 Max has a 10-core CPU but has up to a 32 core GPU and 64GB of RAM.

You can order the new MacBook Pro 14-inch for $1999 and the 16-inch for $2499 today at apple.com and they will start shipping next week.
