Apple is set to introduce significant changes to the Settings app in its upcoming iOS 18 and macOS 15 updates, as confirmed by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. While these updates may not be monumental, they are designed to enhance user experience.

The Settings app on iPhones and iPads, along with the System Settings on Macs, will receive a new user interface featuring a more organized and streamlined layout. This redesign aims to simplify navigation. Additionally, the search functionality within the Settings app will be significantly improved, addressing long-standing issues in previous versions of iOS and macOS.

The iOS 18 and macOS 15 updates will bring major enhancements to Spotlight and search across the operating systems. An updated version of Siri will also be introduced, capable of controlling individual app features. These improvements are expected to make it much easier for users to find hidden settings on their Apple devices.

Rumors have suggested that Apple will completely revamp the macOS System Settings app, rearranging menus and user interfaces in the most significant update since macOS Ventura. On Macs, the new system will organize settings based on their priority and importance, and similar changes are expected for iOS.

In macOS, categories like Notifications and Sound will be moved lower in the list, while General settings will be placed under Network settings. Wallpaper and Displays settings will be included in the General category, and Privacy and Security settings will be paired with Touch ID and Password options.

Additionally, Apple plans to refresh the Control Center in iOS 18. While the specifics of these updates remain unclear, internal testing is already in progress.

WWDC 2024 keynote is scheduled for Monday, June 10, where Apple will unveil iOS 18, macOS 15, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and watchOS 11.
