Apple has confirmed the permanent closure of its Infinite Loop retail store in Cupertino, California, effective January 20.
The store, originally opened in 1993 as The Company Store, underwent renovations in 2015 to become a traditional Apple retail store. However, it remained one of the company's smaller locations, lacking services like Genius Bar appointments or "Today at Apple" sessions.
While employees will be offered opportunities to relocate to nearby Apple stores, the closure marks the end of an era for the location that served as Apple's headquarters until the opening of Apple Park in 2017.
Despite this closure, Apple remains focused on delivering a top-notch customer experience, having opened new stores globally and expanded its online presence.
The Infinite Loop campus will continue to house corporate offices, with the store's closure being part of Apple's ongoing retail strategy.
