Apple announced a new feature alongside the new iPhone 14 models called Emergency SOS via Satellite where users who are stranded in no service areas can call for help by connecting to a satellite.

The user interface will notify users about where to point their iPhone to reach a satellite to connect to. Once connected to a satellite, users will be able to contact emergency services for help with messages. The messages will be displayed in a gray bubble which indicates that it uses a different type of connectivity to contact emergency services.

You can also send your location to friends and family members who can track you in remote areas with the new feature.
