Apple is gearing up for its upcoming event, dubbed "Let Loose," scheduled for Tuesday, May 7. Apple is expected to unveil a fresh lineup of iPad Pro and iPad Air models.
Expectations are high, with the iPad Pro tablets slated to boast OLED displays, a sleeker chassis, and powered by the M4 chip. Meanwhile, the iPad Air is set to receive an upgrade to the M2 chip, alongside the introduction of a larger 12.9-inch display variant.
According to insights shared by Mark Gurman, Apple plans to deliver these announcements through a concise 35-minute video presentation, mirroring the duration of the October "Spooky Fast" event.
In addition to the new iPad Pro and iPad Air, Apple is anticipated to introduce updated iterations of the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. Notably, the latter is expected to feature a novel squeeze gesture complemented by haptic feedback.
The transition to the M4 chip in the iPad Pro lineup will underscore Apple's prowess in on-device artificial intelligence capabilities, alongside incremental enhancements to CPU and GPU performance. However, specifics regarding AI features are likely to be reserved for WWDC in June, where proactive AI functionalities are anticipated to take center stage in iOS 18.
Interestingly, the May 7 event is scheduled for 7 AM Pacific Time, deviating from Apple's customary 10 AM slot. This shift reflects Apple's experimentation with timing to maximize global viewership, with the earlier start time catering more favorably to audiences in Europe and Asia.
