In a new report from DigiTimes, they claimed that Apple is planning to increase the prices of the new iPhone 13 models because of the global chip shortage.
The report explains that TSMC which manufactures chips for Apple increased their chip manufacturing costs by 20% and this will affect companies like Apple who would have to somehow compensate for that. This is why Apple will increase their price.
Apple doesn’t really have any exciting features that are coming to the iPhone 13. Besides the 120Hz display and a smaller notch there really isn’t that much to look forward too.
It could be possible for Apple to raise the prices of the lower end models and keep the prices of the higher end models the same. But previous rumors suggested Apple would keep the pricing the same for the iPhone 13 models.
The Apple September event is just a couple of weeks away and we will be seeing the new iPhone 13 there.
