Apple launched macOS Monterey with updates to Safari and a new Universal App control feature

The Apple Square

Today Apple launched the new version of macOS called macOS Monterey. macOS Monterey has some minor updates when compared to last year’s release of macOS Big Sur.

There’s a new Universal App Control feature which allows you to control different Apple devices just from your Mac wirelessly.

AirPlay to Mac allows you to play a movie from your iPhone or iPad on your Mac. It’s similar to how AirPlay allows you play movies on your TV from your iPhone. You can also play songs from your iPhone on your Mac using the buit in speakers.

There are major design changes to Safari. Safari has a brand new UI with new tabs and a section for the types of tabs you will need open while working on something. Apple is also introducing web extensions for Safari. These new changes are available on all devices.

That’s everything we saw for macOS Monterey at WWDC.
