Apple Considers Future Integration of Apple Intelligence with Apple Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro

Apple is evaluating the possibility of integrating Apple Intelligence with its Apple Vision Pro headset, potentially bringing advanced AI capabilities to the mixed reality device by 2025.

Apple Intelligence, set to undergo testing in the coming weeks and expected to roll out with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia this fall, is not currently slated for Apple Vision Pro. However, a Bloomberg report speculates on the feasibility of introducing these features to Apple's headset.

The current specifications of the Apple Vision Pro, including an M2 processor and 16GB of RAM, surpass the requirements for running Apple Intelligence, which bodes well for the integration. Moreover, as a variant of iPadOS, the platform alignment further supports the potential for introducing these AI features to the headset.

Despite these technical capabilities, concerns remain about the user experience within the mixed reality environment. The immersive nature of mixed reality could pose challenges for seamlessly integrating Apple Intelligence functionalities.

Nevertheless, aligning Apple Intelligence with the Apple Vision Pro aligns with Apple's strategy of positioning the headset as a productivity-enhancing device. The addition of AI features could significantly augment its utility in various professional and consumer applications.

While the report hints at potential strain on Apple's cloud computing infrastructure, comparisons indicate that the impact would be minimal, given the relatively lower volume of Apple Vision Pro sales compared to other Apple devices.
