Today Apple announced their new Tap to Pay feature which allows iPhone users to pay or accept payment without any contact.
iPhone users will also be able to accept payment from credit and debit cards.
This feature will allow small businesses and merchants to process payments by just having their customers hold their phone or their credit/debit card to the merchants iPhone. This technology will be using Apple’s NFC technology which is already available on the iPhone for Apple Pay.
Apple will also allow app developers to embed this feature into their software. Stripe will start allowing the Tap to Pay feature soon for payments soon.
Apple is planning to roll out this feature in the U.S. later this year and Apple Stores across the U.S. will also start using the Tap to Pay payment option soon.
