Apple announced Apple Watch Series 9 with S9 chip, and new “Double Tap” gesture

Today Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 9 which has many new features including "Double Tap", more performance with the S9 chip, and much more.

For the first time, Siri requests are now processed on Apple Watch which makes them faster and easier to use in places with no cellular data. Siri also now has access to health data.

Precision finding on the Apple Watch Series 9 also makes it much easier to find your iPhone just like with an AirTag.

The display on the Apple Watch Series 9 can now go up to 2000 nits, which compared to the Series 8 is twice the brightness. With the always-on Retina display, the Apple Watch Series 9 can reduce to just one nit of brightness.

A new feature announced for the Apple Watch called "Double Tap", allows users to tap their thumb and index finger together to interact with the watch without touching the screen. This can be used for things like answering a call, stopping a timer, playing or pausing music, and more.

Apple Watch Series 9 is also Apple's first carbon neutral device which is made with more recycled materials and comes in environmentally friendly packaging. Apple will no longer use leather as a material for Apple Watch bands and will instead use "FineWoven" bands and has even teamed up with Hermes and Nike for a new collection.

The Apple Watch Series 9 will be available in Pink, Starlight, Silver, Midnight, and PRODUCT(RED) color options. It starts at $399 and is available for pre oder today, and and will be available to purchase on September 22.
