Apple and Towson store workers union reach groundbreaking contract, enhancing pay and protections

Apple Store Towson

Apple has reached a historic contract agreement with the union representing workers at its Towson store, marking a first in the company's retail history.

This landmark deal is set to significantly alter the landscape for Apple’s retail employees in Baltimore County, who were the first in the U.S. to organize a union at an Apple location.

Under the new agreement, which is scheduled for a ratification vote by employees in early August, workers are set to benefit from substantial improvements. The contract promises average pay increases of 10% over its duration and an uplift in starting wages for many positions. It also introduces new protections for scheduling, which will benefit both part-time and full-time employees, ensuring more stability and predictability in their work hours.

Additionally, the agreement establishes a revised disciplinary process aimed at greater fairness and accountability, a move that reflects the union’s commitment to protecting worker rights and promoting a transparent work environment.

The contract spans three years and is expected to solidify the union's role in negotiating future workplace conditions.
