Amazon announced an entire lineup of new devices at their event which includes an updated version of Alexa, new echo products, new Eero products, Ring and Blink cameras, and new services.
Amazon has unveiled an upgraded version of Alexa, their voice assistant, that's much smarter and better at chatting with you. They've developed a new generative AI that's designed just for talking to Alexa. This upgrade will make it easier for you to get real-time info, control your smart home, and enjoy home entertainment.
Alexa users in the U.S., can try out some of these cool new features by saying "Alexa, let's chat" to their Echo device. This preview will make talking to Alexa feel more like a natural conversation. Alexa will be better at figuring out what you want and understanding tricky requests.
Amazon has also introduced new smart glasses called Echo Frames and Carrera Smart Glasses. Amazon claims that these glasses "combine fashion with Alexa technology", so you can use Alexa for everyday tasks like making shopping lists or controlling your lights.
You can play music with a simple tap and even ask Alexa to help you find your lost glasses. There are seven stylish designs to choose from, and they offer different lens options, including sunglass lenses with UV protection and ones you can use with your prescription.
These smart glasses are also splash and scratch-resistant, and they have longer battery life compared to the previous version. You can enjoy up to six hours of continuous media playback or talking, and up to 14 hours of moderate use on a single charge. And here's a cool new thing: you can charge these glasses wirelessly with a new charging stand. The Echo Frames will be available for a starting price of $269.99.
There's also an improved version of the Echo Show 8, designed for better video calls. It comes with a centered camera and noise reduction to enhance your video chatting experience. Plus, it has special audio technology for richer sound and room adaptation features that adjust the sound based on your room's acoustics.
One exciting update is "adaptive content." This means the screen changes based on how close you are to the Echo Show 8. When you're far away, it shows essential info like news headlines or a big clock that you can see from a distance. But as you get closer, the screen switches to more detailed and touch-friendly content, along with personalized information.
Echo Show 8 serves as a smart home hub, making it easy to control all your smart devices from one place. Echo Show 8 will be available in October 2023 with a starting price of $149.99, and is available for pre-order.
